Invalid Username/Password Error:
Most likely you have made an error keying in the information. Try to login again.
Subscription Has Not Begun Error:
You are trying to Login prior to your valid usage date. Please contact the administrator at your institution.
Session Has Timed Out Error:
If you were Logged In to the program, and all of a sudden you received this error, your connection to our server was dropped. Simply Login again. If you get this error while attempting to Login you will need to adjust some of your browser settings. In order for the program to run smoothly there are 3 things you need to do. First you must configure your browser and/or firewall to accept cookies. Second, javascript will need to be turned on. Finally, you will want to make sure that all pages come from our servers and not your computers cache. Please select from the list of browsers to obtain specific instructions on how to adjust your settings.

To Enable Cookies:
From the main menu bar select "Tools"
From the tools menu select Internet Options
Select the tab called Security
Click on Custom Level
Scroll down to the Cookies section
Set "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer" to Enable
Set "Allow per-session cookies" to Enable
Click on OK or Apply as prompted

To Enable Javascript:
From the main menu bar select "Tools"
From the tools menu select "Internet Options"
Select the tab called Security
Click on Custom Level
Scroll down to the section called "Scripting"
Set "Active Scripting"to Enable
Click on OK or Apply as prompted

To Refresh Every Page:
From the main menu bar select "Tools"
From the tools menu select Internet Options
Select the tab called General
Click on Settings in the Temporary Internet Files Section
Under the heading of "Check for Newer Versions of Stored Pages" select "Every Visit to the Page"
Click on OK or Apply as prompted.

To Enable Cookies:
From the main menu bar select "Tools"
From the tools menu select Internet Options
Select the tab called Privacy
Move the Slider to "Medium"
You can also click on Advanced for specialized cookie treatment
Click on OK or Apply as prompted

To Enable Javascript:
From the main menu bar select "Tools"
From the tools menu select "Internet Options"
Select the tab called Security
Click on Custom Level
In the drop down box, select Medium and click on Reset
Click on OK or Apply as prompted

To Refresh Every Page:
From the main menu bar select "Tools"
From the tools menu select Internet Options
Select the tab called General
Click on Settings in the Temporary Internet Files Section
Under the heading of "Check for Newer Versions of Stored Pages" select "Every Visit to the Page"
Click on OK or Apply as prompted.

To Enable Cookies:
From the main menu bar select "Edit"
Select "Preferences"
Double Click on the category called "Privacy and Security"
Click on the sub-menu item called cookies
In the window that opens, select "Enable all Cookies"
Click on OK or Apply as prompted

To Enable Javascript:
From the main menu bar select "Edit"
Select "Preferences"
Click on the category called "Advanced"
In the window that opens on the right, look to the section at the top
Put a checkmark next to "Enable Javascript"
Click on OK or Apply as prompted

To Refresh Every Page:
From the main menu bar select "Edit"
Select "Preferences"
Double Click on the category called "Advanced"
Select "Cache" from the sub-menu that appears
In the window that appears on the right select "Every time I view the page" from the section titled "Compare the page in the cache with the page on the network"
Click on OK or Apply as prompted.

BROWSERS
FOCUS will function in all recent browsers. This includes Internet Explorer 5.5 and above, and Netscape 6.0x and above. Older browsers will not be supported.

FIREWALLS and AD-BLOCKING
Normal firewall settings should not interfere with the functioning of FOCUS. If for some unknown reason you no longer can access our site you may want to check your firewall settings to see if our site is being blocked. Focus utilizes pop-up windows throughout the program. While using FOCUS, you should disable ad-blocking.

NAVIGATION
While using the FOCUS program you should avoid using your browser forward and back buttons. Instead, use the red buttons we have provided for navigating.

ONLINE ERROR REPORTS
In the unlikely event you receive an online error report, fill out as much information as possible on the supplied form along with your username and email address and select submit. Our technicians will then investigate the issue and provide you with suggestions on how to proceed.

PROXY SERVERS
If you are using a proxy server on your network make sure that pages from our site are not cached. FOCUS uses *.cgi and *.cfm files. These types of files should never be cached. Here are some basic guidelines to follow:
1. FOCUS uses the standard www port 80.
2. Both Windows and the MacIntosh platforms are supported
2. Use IE 5.5 or higher, or Netscape 6.0 or higher.
3. Confirm that pages are refreshed "every visit to the page" in your temporary internet browser settings.
4. Both Javascript and Cookies must be enabled
